Description

The flower of Jordaaniella spongiosa is large and showy, produced on a long pedicel from a stem-tip. Several whorls of narrow petals spread partly, angled up around the flower centre. The petals are pink-purple, red or cerise. The petal bases are yellow or orange, matching the flower centre that is replete with yellow-anthered stamens (Frandsen, 2017; Cowling and Pierce, 1999).
