Description

These rocky outcrops on the fynbos slopes hold promise and secret of something special to be found in its shade and crannies. And shelter for the small mammals still living there. They are resources for driving the earth's diversity machine.

Hikers clamber up for the lookout opportunity. Who has stood here over the years for their most memorable personal moments?   (“We rested here last time we were up, remember?”)  Photographs taken here on sunny days many years ago...where are they filed now? Every tall rock serves at some stage as a marker of the spot where something special has happened: A special plant was discovered; a food parcel lay carefully hidden; a friend was met by agreement; a promise was sealed; a life changing thought struck; treasure lies buried!  And what remarkable intent or concern may have occupied a mind fed by this view long ago?  Or will do so in times to come?  The years and the rocks don't tell.
