Description

The fruit of Phylica buxifolia is an ovoid capsule, about 1,3 cm in length. The flat tip of the fruit has a tuft of small hairs around its rim. The fruits are creamy green with a covering of velvety soft hairs.

This tree was seen in the Kogelberg in November. Fruiting normally happens in the latter half of spring (Coates Palgrave, 2002).
