Description

Phylica buxifolia is a rounded shrub or small tree, up to 4 m in height. It grows naturally in the Cape Peninsula and eastward to Caledon and Hermanus in rocky fynbos.

Its leaves are ovate, shiny green on their upper surfaces. Phyllikos means leafy in Greek. This plant can be used as a hedge or garden plant in winter rainfall areas or with winter watering.
