The pointy tips of Edmondia sesamoides flowerhead bracts grown in concentric rows, present patterns of precision around the central disc florets. The fertile central florets are five-lobed, their petals covered in gland-tipped hairs. Flowerheads grow from 2,5 cm to 3 cm in diameter.
Flowering happens from late winter to midsummer (Manning, 2007).
