Image information

Description

Grown in a small cluster from a leaf axil or the axil of a fallen leaf, the Mimusops zeyheri flowers are cream or white on pedicels of 1 cm to 2 cm long. The sepals and pedicels in picture are olive-green to brown.

The sepals and petals in picture appear of roughly similar length and width, folding in along their margins. Some also fold in at their tips, although the buds in picture have sepal tips that still curve out. Some styles are notably exserted.

What appears like dark lenticels are present on the stem part in picture (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Schmidt, et al, 2002; Van Wyk and Van Wyk, 1997; Pooley, 1993; Codd, 1951; iNaturalist).
