Image information

Description

From having been pressed together before the capsule opened, the sticky red fruity coverings of the Kiggelaria africana seeds retain angular shapes; a bit like new-born baby skins displaying short-term pressure markings.

Imagine treating the birds in your garden to these delicacies in season. The season may last from February to July (Coates Palgrave, 2002).
