Description

The cream midribs of Ekebergia capensis leaves are conspicuous, much more so than the lateral veins that ascend to the margins, parallel to each other without reaching them. The asymmetric leaflets often curve to one side, the “halves” separated by the midrib sometimes markedly unequal. The petiolules are short and the leaflet-tips attenuate narrowly.

Antelope browse these leaves (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Pooley, 1993).
