Image information

Description

The alternate, short-stalked to stalkless leaves of Schistostephium umbellatum are ovate, elliptic to slightly obovate with entire margins. The acutely pointed tips may have dark dots and occasionally recurve or twist abruptly. The leaves may curve in or fold in slightly along their midribs, sometimes S-shaped longitudinally.

The grey-green to silvery blades are covered in soft hairs (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist).
