Description

This picture was posted in the belief that the plant is Pavonia burchellii. The size and number of the stamens, as well as the petal shape cast some doubt upon this identification.

The majority of the Pavonia species occur in tropical and subtropical America. Several are African, with a couple occurring in Asia (JSTOR; Manning, 2009; iSpot).
