Image information

Description

Young and old Limonium peregrinum flowering stems tower over other parts of the same plant (or plants) in the beach scrub. The other parts include pink inflorescences and leafy stem-tips.

The young, green panicle on the left ends in underdeveloped bud clusters. The branches of the old, brown panicles on the right end abruptly in whitish upper parts, the spent floral bases remaining upon them longest.

The inflorescences of L. peregrinum grow taller than the leaves (Manning, 2007; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Manning and Goldblatt, 1996; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
