Image information

Description

The Garuleum bipinnatum flowerhead bracts that folded in during the bud stage are now spread widely like the spokes of a ruined wheel that lost its rim.

On top of them the seeds are wedge-shaped and flat. Brown and transversally ridged on the upper surfaces, they are paler and smooth below when blown over without losing their grip yet.

The rich harvest is almost ready in the head, awaiting independence and the quest to become new plants (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org; http://www.worldfloraonline.org).
