Description

This early bud of Garuleum bipinnatum is still a flattish disc, the green and purple bracts closed upon it narrow, hairy and sharply pointed. Some of the lowest row of bracts spread away from the bud, the inner ones clasping the corolla still tightly. The stem tip peduncle is reddish purple and hairy (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010).
