Description

Pelargonium exstipulatum, in Afrikaans commonly known as the vaalblaarmalva (grey leaf pelargonium), is a single-stemmed, much-branched, woody shrublet reaching heights from 60 cm to 1 m. Young stems tend to be sticky from glandular hairs.

The species distribution is inland in the Western Cape, in the Little Karoo from Ladismith to De Rust.

The habitat is succulent Karoo on rocky slopes. The plant is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
