Image information

Description

Long, straight and brown fruits of Pelargonium capitatum have replaced one umbel of flowers, while the later one on the left still has flowers in different stages. Some hovering mericarps that include seeds show their white hairy appendages, are being freed for wind dispersal.

The photo was taken at Onrus in December (Manning, 2007; iSpot).
