Image information

Description

A ripened Pelargonium capitatum mericarp hangs from the style tip as its tail twists, freeing its long silky hairs. These hairs will aid its flight once the wind overcomes the weakening grip where it is anchored to its birth home.

The sharp tip at the bottom of the seed will hopefully be downwardly positioned upon landing to drill into the ground (as in planting), as long as the spiralling in the tail continues the requisite action (Wikipedia; www.geraniumsonline.com).
