Description

These large Ehretia rigida subsp. nervifolia stems growing in dense grassy woodland near the Crocodile River south of the Kruger National Park, have lost the even greyness of their bark in favour of rougher, patchy grey surfaces. Older flaking parts are darker.

The leaves are clustered on spur-branches or spaced on young twigs (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Van Wyk and Van Wyk, 1997; iSpot).
