Image information

Description

Flower colour of Cynorkis kassneriana is usually pink-purple to deep purple with dark spots in its throat. It may, however also be pale blue and densely flowered as seen here.

The mainly dark colouring of the angled ovaries behind the flowers is conspicuous here, as are the glandular hairs upon them.

Flowering of the species happens from midsummer to mid-autumn (www.zimbabweflora.co.zw; www.africanorchids.dk).
