Image information

Description

Rabiea albinota has densely erect, dark-green leaves, triangular, sickle-shaped and succulent leaves. There is distinct mottling on the leaves to their pinkish tips. The flowers are bright yellow with typical vygie or mesemb structure.

One finds R. albinota in the Western Cape Karoo, the Eastern Cape and the Free State, almost invariably in harsh climatic conditions characterised by temperature extremes and low rainfall.

In accordance with its adaptation the plant requires dry winters, but otherwise responds well to cultivation (Smith, et al, 1998).
