Description

The top of the Hebenstretia parviflora inflorescence shows the bract under each bud yet to open still prominent, attached to the green of the boat-shaped calyces of the flowers.

Once the flowers open, elongation of the spike gives them slightly more room to develop unimpaired. The dull orange corolla tubes ascend from the stem, turned white in the finger section of the corolla upper part (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
