Image information

Description

The involucral bracts of a Gerbera linnaei flowerhead grow in about four rows. They are oblong with acutely pointed tips. Their colouring is pale green with purplish tips in picture, forming a cylindrical cup around the flowerhead base.

The innermost, tallest bracts are slightly taller than the old disc florets here, already progressing towards fruiting (Manning, 2009; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; Kidd, 1983; iNaturalist; www.gerbera.org).
