Image information

Description

A large Anchusa capensis herb, commonly known as Cape alkanet, branches for numerous blue flowers to be presented across its willowy frame.

The photo was taken in Kirstenbosch during November where the plant enjoyed sufficient moisture for ample growth. The pale green stems in picture have some dark reddish colouring in their upper parts (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2009; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
