Description

Feeding from rock crevices by riversides can be profitable as the Watsonia and Serruria plants are proving here. Apart from receiving sufficient moisture, there are advantages to be had from salts in the rocks, a firm foothold or anchoring and some protection from life-threatening interferences.

In return a beautified rockface is presented, as well as soil formation from plant body left-overs and the widening of fissures for more growth in future. Nature is ambitious.
