Aloe khamiesensis is also known as A. microstigma or A. microstigma subsp. microstigma, the literature not quite settled about what to call it.

These plants thrive in the arid mountainous terrain of the Goegap Nature Reserve among the klipkoppe (stone heads). Usually single-stemmed, some branched specimens are sometimes seen. Flowering happens early in winter when panicles of orange-red flowers are borne.

Transplanting this species is not advised as the success rate is low (Van Wyk and Smith, 2003; Frandsen, 2017; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Reynolds, 1974; Jeppe, 1969; iNaturalist).
