Description

The inflorescence of Senecio pleistocephalus is a densely branched, flat-topped to slightly domed panicle. The discoid yellow flowerheads seen here will still open wider to become about 5 mm in diameter. The green involucre at the base of each capitulum is about 4 mm in length, consisting of one row of bracts attached to each other at the margins. The receptacle has no scales (Manning, 2009).
