Image information

Description

At bloomtime the crown of Tarchonanthus littoralis is often profusely decked in sprays of its hairy, creamy white florets. The male florets grow in larger heads of up to 25, the female ones only up to five per cluster.

The nutlets that follow on the female trees are densely woolly (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iSpot; http://pza.sanbi.org).
