The two-branched, far exserted styles of Pegolettia baccaridifolia dominate in this photo of an aging flowerhead. The opposite style-branches are linear, cream and fleshy, curving out and spreading over the outer florets, the ones that opened first. There are sweeping hairs present on the styles, not reaching the style furcation. The stigmatic areas on the style branches are two lines that flow together.

The shorter exserted stamens are visible from some of the inner florets (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist).
