Image information

Description

The flowerhead of Pegolettia baccaridifolia may end like this: The involucral bracts spread widely, showing their dry, whitish inside surfaces. Fine hairs are visible along the brown upper margins of the inner row of bracts. The holes in the receptacle indicate where the individual florets were anchored, not too long ago as one fruit is still standing.

A little lower down the upper leaf margins are shiny and angular from their pronounced toothing. Tiny bulges are visible upon some leaf and tooth tips (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iSpot).
