Description

Some of the Muraltia spinosa lateral sepals in picture over the developing fruits have dark purple veins on both outer and inner surfaces. The veins are straight, radiating from base to upper margin. Such lines are often not visible on flowers of this plant.

No two of the partly visible fruits seen here are of the same colour at this stage (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
