Description

This Muraltia spinosa plant is flowering in the Karoo near Matjiesfontein. Its leaves few and far between, sparsely scattered along the stems. The least leafy specimens may be more common inland where the rainfall is lower and the summer heat fiercer. The harsher the climate, the more deciduous the plant may be (www.plantzafrica.com).
