Even thicker Hermannia aspera branches may retain hairs for some time, as this stubbly stem shows against the sky.

The leaves in picture curve down along their midribs, the margins wavy among their toothing. The upper surfaces have sparse coverings of long hairs, the lower ones are covered whitish velvety but still show their veins, prominent on this side.
