The yellow flowers of Hermannia alnifolia are borne in great numbers at branch tips. Each bell-shaped flower is clasped at the back by a hairy green calyx.
The furled petals overlap each other in a roll, one side showing on the outside and the corolla tips flaring to complete the bell-shape. The filaments of the stamens contained inside the corolla are paddle-shaped.
Flowering happens from late winter to midspring (Manning, 2007; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984).
