Image information

Description

Buds, flowers not inspired by the ambient temperature early in the day and the beginnings of fruit pods are present on the top, middle and lower sections respectively of this Heliophila coronopifolia raceme.

Stem-tips of these annual plants are productive, having only one season to get everything done. The seeds will fall and lie around, waiting for rain and action next spring, like soldiers that hurry up and wait (Manning, 2007; Le Roux, et al, 2005).
