The fruit capsule of Drosanthemum giffenii has five locules. They have straight covering membranes and no knob-like closing bodies; the valves have broad wings, transparent membranes. The old capsule in picture has released its seeds.
The plant flowers pink or white in late spring after good rains. Flowers grow solitary on unbranched stalks, although clusters of several stalks emerge close together near stem tips. The flowers have thread-like stigmas.
