Image information

Description

Fluffy clusters of Cineraria platycarpa fruit pappuses in picture are still surrounded by the now split and spreading involucral bracts, coloured beige brown and no longer green.

The other heads visible are still concluding floral stages, their involucres green and cohering (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; JSTOR).
