Image information

Description

Sandy coastal flats in the south-west of the Western Cape often have ample coverings of Arctotheca calendula as a regular feature of the scenery. They dominate here on a dune near Grotto Bay on the west coast in September.

A few other species, mainly daisies, are holding their own in this, the main growing and flowering season for much of the region's vegetation.
