Image information

Description

The mountain mallow or Anisodontea julii is a tall shrub confined in nature to the Drakensberg area above heights of about 1200 m. It is thus found in KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State and Lesotho.

As a garden subject it is, however, planted widely, also in the winter rainfall area. This thriving specimen was found in the Botanical Garden of the North-West University at its Potchefstroom Campus.
