Image information

Description

Ray florets are rusty red on their outside surfaces as seen in this young Berkheya cuneata flowerhead. Fully open they will spread, showing their yellow inside surfaces around the disc florets, also yellow. Hairy coverings over bracts and leaves of the flenniebos do not extend to the rays. The flowerheads are fragrant (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010).
