Description

The white, sometimes pinkish flowers of Carissa bispinosa grow in terminal clusters on short stalks. The corolla tube is long and slender, up to 9 mm long. The five spreading corolla lobes around the small flower mouth is up to 5 mm long. The lobes are oblong with rounded tips and overlap each other to the left.

The fragrant flowers appear from late winter to mid-autumn (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Van Wyk and Van Wyk, 1997; Pooley, 1993).
