Image information

Description

The Euphorbia maleolens cyathia grow at or near stem-tips from the gaps between the tubercles. Cyathia and eventually the fruits are strongly pedicelled. The stalks are about 1 cm long, persistent and later become woody.

The cyathium is surrounded by a cup-shaped involucre (Germishuizen and Fabian, 1982; iNaturalist; JSTOR; http://www.llifle.com).
