Description

This tangled mass of hairless Bowiea volubilis subsp. volubilis stems only differs in appearance from green spaghetti by branching and variation in stem thickness.

The stems show the vigour of growth that replaces all of this annually. Next year, a slightly bigger bulb will produce even more of it, if the muti men don’t collect the bulb and if the rain is good.

Vulnerable and threatened plants develop more "ifs" unless people cut them some slack (Pooley, 1998).
