Image information

Description

The erect leaves of Wachendorfia paniculata grow from the ground in a fan-shape. The leaves are lance-shaped and markedly pleated lengthwise, their tips acutely pointed. The hairy leaves become about 40 cm long, the inflorescence of similar height or taller.

The flowering stalk grows next to the leaf fan (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005).
