Syringodea bifucata is a small perennial growing from a large corm.
The species distribution is widespread from inland parts of the Eastern Cape, the Free State and Gauteng.
The plants grow on grassland flats and among karoid scrub. The species is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist; https://www.pacificbulbsociety.org; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
