Description

Schizoglossum hilliardiae occurs in the southern parts of the KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape Drakensberg. This region has a grassland habitat receiving summer rain and cold, dry winters.

The small white, flowers are longitudinally lined along the five narrowly oblong to slightly obovate petals. The green outer corona lobes are erect, tapering to acute tips. There is a dark purple inner corona. Flowers appear in summer on plants that may commonly become 30 cm tall.

This plant is grown in containers and on rockeries.
