The old Hypoxis filiformis flower has dark anthers, long and thin, attached to the filament tips near their midpoints. The style in the flower centre is much thicker than the filaments around it and yellower. The brownish stigma at the style tip is erect, unevenly shaped. The inferior ovary is three-chambered.
The outer three tepals have tips that curve down in this old flower.
Many shiny black seeds are produced in the fruit capsule (Van Wyk and Malan, 1997; Lowrey and Wright, 1987; iNaturalist).
