Nymania capensis leaves grow in fascicles upon woody node platforms on the stem in picture. The leaf surfaces look about the same above and below; the cream coloured leaf midribs clearly visible. Leaf tips are rounded; the bases taper into the petioles.
The long, red flower stalks emerge from these leaf clusters, solitary or in small groups. Flowers and leaves are hairless (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010).
