Selago corymbosa, the bitterblombos in Afrikaans, is a perennial shrublet that branches and grows to 60 cm tall. It belongs to the Scrophulariaceae, the sutera or figwort family.
The leaves are clustered in the leaf axils, light green, about 4 mm long, narrowly linear with their edges rolled under.
The flowers are small and white on short spikes clustered in terminal corymbs of up to 6 cm in diameter. The calyces are five-toothed. The flowering time is December to June.
The species distribution is in the southern parts of the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape.
The habitat is fynbos slopes, but also some karoid parts. The species is not considered threatened in habitat early in the twenty first century.
The plants are little browsed (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; Gledhill, 1981; http://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
